Thouria is a settlement of the Peloponnese, with archaeological evidence ranging in date from the Bronze Age to the Roman period. The nature of the archaic and classical polity is debated in the sources. The ancient site is located in the vicinity of modern Aithaia/Hellenika, about 3 kilometers north of modern Thouria.

A hill in Boeotia located to the west of Chaeronea, Thourion is described by both Plutarch and Pausanias. The discovery of an inscribed trophy monument connected to the military campaigns of Lucius Cornelius Sulla in 86 BCE led to the identification of the site.

Thracia refers to a territory occupied by the Thraci (or Thracians), a human population of the northern Balkan Peninsula whose reach stretched from the north Aegean Sea to the Danube river. Parts of Thracia would eventually become incorporated into the Roman provinces of Moesia and Thracia.
