The Ancient World Mapping Center at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill has just released a call for papers for a conference, to be held on April 8-9, 2016, on the applications of mapping and GIS to ancient history.

The Call for Papers for "Mapping the Past: GIS Approaches to Ancient History" can be read in full on the AWMC website. Proposals are due to AWMC by 15 December 2015.

I'm delighted to have been asked to deliver the keynote, which I've prospectively titled "Stable Orbits or Clear Air Turbulence: Capacity, Scale, and Use Cases in Geospatial Antiquity." I hope to see and spend time with many members of the Pleiades community at this event, so please mark your calendars and start working on those abstracts!
