Vessagiriya is the site of an ancient Buddhist forest monastery in Sri Lanka. It is considered part of the ruined site of Anuradhapura. The monastery was initially built in the middle of the third century BCE and was expanded in the late fifth century CE. A Roman bronze coin, as well as punch-marked coins and/or ingots, were excavated at Vessagiriya in the first decade of the 20th century.

"Ara Alexandri", also known as "Arae Alexandri", is a toponym that refers to stelai erected to mark the northern limits of Alexander III of Macedon's territorial empire. The instance included by the Barrington Atlas compilers on map 6 corresponds to the instance included on the Peutinger map and also discussed in RE by Wilhelm Tomaschek. These markers were once found at the bend of the Iaxartes River (Syr Darya in Central Asia) to the east of the Caspian Sea. Pliny the Elder describes this place as lying beyond the Portus Macedonum in Carmania.

The so-called "Meta Romuli" was a pyramidal tomb located in the Ager Vaticanus in Rome. It likely dates to the first century BCE or the first century CE. Its extant superstructure was demolished in 1499. Remains of foundations and pavements that have been associated with the tomb were encountered in 1948-1949 during construction work in the first block of the north side of the present-day Via della Conciliazione.

An ancient city in Caria founded by Antiochus I Soter, according to Strabo. The city had several phases, including a period of Rhodian influence, before coming under the umbrella of Roman administration. The city was elaborately embellished with monumental programs of public art and architecture.
