Inbound links from place records in Vici.org are now included in the Pleiades Linked Data sidebar.

The Pleiades Linked Data Sidebar code is now parsing Pleiades links from René Voorburg's. Vici.Org: Archaeological Atlas of Antiquity. 2012-. https://vici.org/.

As of today's first pass at the data provided by René, 5,327 unique Pleiades place resources now display inbound Vici.org links in their sidebars. Only 219 of these links are reciprocated by Pleiades; for these a gold star appears next to the link in the sidebar. The unreciprocated links can be found on GitHub in a CSV file or an equivalent JSON file. Pleiades contributors are invited to double-check these links and add them to the corresponding Pleiades places as "related" references. Conversely, there are a total of 1,560 place resources in Pleiades that already have "related" references to Vici.org place entriesVici.org contributors could potentially double-check and add them to that database to further enhance cross-linking between the two resources.

The addition of Vici.org links to the Pleiades Linked Data Sidebar brings the count of Pleiades place resources displaying the sidebar to 23,417. Taken together, these sidebars present 43,556 inbound links from 21 external datasets and websites. 17,862 of these links are reciprocated by Pleiades references. Read more about the Pleiades Linked Data Sidebar and included datasets here.
