Ballance (1951: 99) discusses the so-called "Ponte Apollosa" as a possible close parallel to the Ponte Cadaro on the Via Flaminia. In footnote 75, Ballance notes that the Latin inscription (CIL 9, 2122) that records a bridge restored under Septimius Severus and Caracalla in 198 CE is generally associated with the "Ponte Apollosa" has a provenance that is not completely certain.
