An ancient city of Latium that was said to have been conquered by Ancus Marcius, Ficana was located near the eleventh mile of the Via Ostiensis. Excavation at the site has produced important evidence for the urban center beginning from the eighth century BC. Pliny the Elder mentions Ficana as one of the lost cities of Latium.
