Pleiades

Several identifications are proposed for this place, mostly based on potential correspondences with the Notitia Dignitatum: on paleographic grounds, Tacasiria (Ala secunda Aegyptiorum) in Parthey and Pinder (Not. Dig. 28.39), or Ta Kastra, i.e. Castra Iudaeorum (Not. Dig 28.42) in Worp (1991). Modern locations are proposed by Kees (RE) in the vicinity of mod. Fakûs, or in mod. al-ʿAzzāzī (Löhberg), on grounds of the distances given in the Antonine Itinerary.
