The Maloitas river, mentioned by Pausanias and placed by him near Methydrion in the Peloponnese, was identified by F. Bölte in RE with a small, intermittent tributary of the modern Trogas river that lies between Methydrion and modern Pyrgaki, which is located in the modern Greek municipal unit of Vytina (Arcadia regional unit). BAtlas cites Pausanias and labels linework corresponding to this stream.
