Kanopikos Kolpos, the modern Abu Qir Bay, is an embayment of the Mediterranean Sea located near Alexandria in Egypt between the Rosetta mouth of the Nile River and Abu Qir. The ancient cities of Canopus, Herakleion, and Menouthis are submerged beneath its waters.
