Eyle: It is one of the towns of the Yehūd (Jews), whose people were transformed into apes and pigs. It lies in the Cezīre-i ʿArab (Arabian Peninsula), on the coast of the Baḥr-i Ḳulzüm (Red Sea), along the route taken by the pilgrims from Miṣr (Egypt). [translation]
