A site in Roman Britain located some 20 km northwest of Gloucester along the road leading towards the Wye valley. Numismatic evidence suggests possible Roman military presence.

The argument for Ariconium being at Weston-under-Penyard is feeble, and probably wrong. It is far more likely to have been where the route of iter 13 of the Antonine Itinerary crossed the river Severn, near Arlingham and Awre, as explained at www.romaneranames.uk/a/ariconio.htm and at length in Newsletter 21 of the Roman Roads Research Association, Winter 2022.
