Winterton is the site of a Roman villa and field system. The ancient site, now invisible, is located just to the north of Scunthorpe, Lincolnshire U.K.

The Barrington Atlas Directory notes: Winterton. Excavation revealed three circular houses that gay way to a grouping of stone-built aisled houses (second to fourth century A.D.) arranged around an open yard.
