Dilbarjin is an ancient city of northern Afghanistan. The site may have been founded under the Achaemenid Empire. Under the Kushan Empire, the site was a fortified local center of some importance.

Base map by Ryan M. Horne for Pleiades and the Ancient World Mapping Center (ancient terrain after the Barrington Atlas). Map interaction design and implementation by Sean Gillies, David Glick, Alec Mitchell, and Tom Elliott for Pleiades.

Barrington Atlas: BAtlas 98 G1 Dilbarjin

P. Bernard, writing in Encyclopaedia Iranica (online) notes that the city of "Eukratideia" mentioned by both Strabo (11.11.2) and Ptolemy (6.11.8) may, in fact, correspond to the site of Dilbarjin in Bactria.
