Höflein, now located in the federal state of Lower Austria, in the Bruck an der Leitha district, was the site of a Roman fort that was once part of the Upper Pannonian segment of the Danube limes. The fort is no longer visible; its remains lie beneath the parish church of St. Ulrich and its associated cemetery. Three Roman watchtowers were located in the vicinity. The site is located approximately five kilometers south of the Danube River.
