The high altar of the present, Gothic-era Pfarrkirche (parish church) of modern Ampass (near Insbruck in Austria) was built over a series of earlier Christian churches, the earliest of which appears to date to the fifth century CE, based on excavated remains of a reliquary vault dating back to that period.
