The region of Andalucía (Andalusia in English), located in the south of Spain, is the second largest and the most populous region of modern Spain. At one time it belonged to the kingdom of Alfonso X. Much of the modern region is coincident with the extent of ancient Baetica.

Base map by Ryan M. Horne for Pleiades and the Ancient World Mapping Center (ancient terrain after the Barrington Atlas). Map interaction design and implementation by Sean Gillies, David Glick, Alec Mitchell, and Tom Elliott for Pleiades.
