Buxio is one of several villas mentioned in a list of "donatio ecclesiae" in the "territorio Carducino" in the Life of Saint Didier, who was bishop of Cahors in the 7th century CE. BAtlas places it with a hollow symbol and a question mark on map 25, offering "Le Buz, Vabre?" in the directory for modern location. Modern Vabre is a French commune in Occitania on the Gijou river. CAG reports that the remains of a villa had been reported in the 1940s in Vabre, but without further specificity.
