The modern Oued Mafragh in northeastern Algeria, which flows into the Mediterranean Sea between Annaba (ancient Hippo Regius) and Cap Rosa and its primary upstream contributory, the Oued Bou Namoussa, are likely to correspond to the ancient Armua and Armoniacum, mentioned in various ancient sources.
