History
A people or confederation in Eastern Anatolia and the South Caucasus referred to in Assyrian texts from the 13th-7th centuries BCE. The southernmost extent of this polity was in the region of Lake Urmia, and its northernmost reaches in the vicinity of Erzurum. It was related in some way to Urartu, though the nature of the relationship is unclear.
