Neaition/Netum is listed as "Noto" in the BTCGI. Other sources (such as Manni 1981 and the Barrington Atlas) identify more precisely the area of Old Noto ("Noto antica" or "Noto vecchia"), northwest of modern Noto. The old town was destroyed by an earthquake and mostly abandoned in 1693.
