Kitalagama is recorded as the early 20th century findspot of two separately reported hoards (or parts thereof) of Roman bronze coins. The identifiable coins date from the Constantinian and Theodosian dynasties. Walburg reports that neither find is sufficiently well-documented to determine which of two modern towns is meant: Kitalagama West or Kitalagama East.
