The Barrington Atlas Directory notes: Kanchipuram. Dayalan 2019 asserts, without argument or mention of Kanchipuram, a tentative alternative identification with Mamallapuram. Nannam 2019 uncritically resurrects an early 20th century identification with Krishnapatna/Gandagopalapattana port.
