An Umayyad palace in Jordan, the construction of Qasr al-Mshatta is thought to have been started under Caliph Walid II around A.D. 743-44, just before the Abbassid Revolution, and it was never completed.

Qasr al-Mshatta was listed on the 'Tentative List' of UNESCO World Heritage sites in 2001.
