History
The modern Manisa Ovası (Manisa plain) in Turkey stretches to the north, west, and east of the modern city of Manisa (ancient Magnesia ad Sipylum). The plain surrounds the confluences of the Hyllos (modern Demirci Çay) and Pidasos (a tributary of Kum Çay) rivers with the Hermus (modern Gediz).
