Three rivers of Arcadia bearing this name are mentioned in ancient sources. According to Pausanias, this Aroanios rises in the ancient Erymanthos mountains and flows southward to join other tributaries of the Erymanthos river at ancient Psophis. BAtlas labels the modern Nousaitiko, which matches Pausanias' description.

Barrington Atlas: BAtlas 58 B2 Aroanios fl.

BAtlDir has clearly mixed Pausanias citations and possibly other information between the various Arcadian rivers with this name. The modern name/location glosses therein cannot be correlated with modern digital gazetteers. This record has been adjusted for Pausanias citations after Hirschfeld in RE and by correlating BAtlas placement with Pausanias' descriptions.
