An ancient settlement mentioned by Ptolemy and thought to have been located in the vicinity of the modern coastal town of Paralio Astros. The prominent remains of the castle immediately above the town date to the 17th or 18th century CE and are unrelated to both the ancient settlement and the Aeginetan fortification mentioned by Thucydides that some scholars associate with ancient Astron (RE).
