An ancient city in Samnium located between Interamna Lirenas and Atina perhaps corresponding to the modern comune of Sant'Elia Fiumerapido (FR).

During the Third Samnite War (293 B.C.), the Roman consul Spurius Carvilius Maximus captured and destroyed Amiternum. The opinion offered by S. Oakley contradicts those of Nissen, Salmon, and La Regina.
