A large, fortified Phrygian settlement dating to the 7th/6th centuries BCE on modern Kerkenes Dağ in Turkey's Yozgat province. It is probably to be identified with a "Pteria" mentioned by Herodotus as the site of a battle between Cyrus and Croesus.
