History
Ṣidūnu rabû ("greater Sidon") is mentioned with Ṣidūnu ṣehru ("lesser Sidon") in inscriptions of the Assyrian king Sennacherib (r. 704-681 BC). The name probably refers to an area of Sidon, perhaps the mainland portion or the central part of the city.
