History
Ṣidūnu ṣehru ("lesser Sidon") is mentioned with Ṣidūnu rabû ("greater Sidon") in inscriptions of the Assyrian king Sennacherib (r. 704-681 BC). The name probably refers to an area of Sidon, perhaps the island portion of the city or its suburbs.
