The site of Amheida, in Egypt's Dahkleh Oasis, has been under active excavation since 2001, now led by a team from New York University. On that project's website ( one can find extensive and up-to-date information, including PDF copies of publications, annual reports, maps (including KML for download) and the catalog of the dig house library, as well as information about NYU's undergraduate program in Egypt (an archaeological field school on site at Amheida).

The Ancient World Image Bank (a publication of NYU's Institute for the Study of the Ancient World, whose director runs the Amheida excavations) provides an extensive set of open access imagery from the site.
