Barrington Atlas: BAtlas 89 F4 Bavian
The reliefs and inscriptions found here are commonly called the "Bavian Reliefs” or "Bavian Inscriptions,” despite the fact that Khinnis, not Bavian, is the nearest village to these important Assyrian ruins. The inscriptions record the construction of a canal system, as well as the destruction of the city Babylon in 689 B.C. This place appears in the Barrington Atlas as Bavian (BAtlas 89 F4) and The Barrington Atlas Directory notes: Bavian, IRQ.
