Armenian monastery in East Azarabaijan province, Iran. The first church was constructed on the site in 62 CE. A monastery was constructed there in the 7th century, and the structure was expanded in the 10th century.

Pleiades

In 2008 the St. Stephanos monastery was inscribed as a UNESCO World Heritage site as part of the "The Armenian Monastic Ensembles of Iran". Located in the north-west of the country, this heritage listing consists of three monastic ensembles of the Armenian Christian faith: St Thaddeus and St Stepanos and the Chapel of Dzordzor.
