Tell Muhammad, as suggested by textual evidence in the form of diplomatic letters, may have been ancient Diniktum, a Middle Bronze Age settlement located in the Diyala region of Mesopotamia. One of its Old Babylonian kings was Sin-Gamil.

Base map by Ryan M. Horne for Pleiades and the Ancient World Mapping Center (ancient terrain after the Barrington Atlas). Map interaction design and implementation by Sean Gillies, David Glick, Alec Mitchell, and Tom Elliott for Pleiades.
