Magidû or Megiddo (modern Tell al-Mutesellim, "The Tell of the Governor") is an ancient settlement mound located in northern Israel near Kibbutz Megiddo, about 30 km southeast of Haifa. Bronze Age Megiddo was an important Canaanite city-state and during the Iron Age, it was a royal city in the Kingdom of Israel. The site is mentioned in Neo-Assyrian sources.
