The so-called "Casa della statuetta indiana" (I.8.5) lies on the Via dell'Abbondanza. Excavated between 1930 and 1935, it was named for the fine ivory statuette (thought by some to depict Lakshmi) found inside. The house has a slightly irregular floor plan with some rooms added to the structure from adjacent properties.
