Located in the Lombardy plain, the Valcamonica assemblage constitutes one of the world's greatest collections of prehistoric petroglyphs – created over a period of 8,000 years. The site was enlisted by UNESCO in 1971.

Pleiades

This UNESCO World Heritage site is dispersed, in the sense that eight separate areas - now incorporated as archaeological parks - have preserved instances of incised rock art. All of these areas are distributed along the valley, beginning with the Lake Moro Intermunicipal Park and ending at the pathway at Sonico, the highest area in terms of elevation.
