One of two rivers in the Peloponnese that bore this name, this Selino(us) was a late, left tributary of the Alpheious that flows past modern Krestena (the ancient city of Selino(u)s) and Makrisia (ancient Skillous) in the modern Elis Regional District. It is known today as the Selinountas or Selinous potamos.
