The island of Prepesinthos, now known as Despotikó, is a small, arid island of the Cyclades island grouping. It is situated just some 700 meters to the west of the island of Antiparos. It lies to the east of the small island of Strongyli. Its location is nearly at the center of the Cyclades. While in the present day the island is uninhabited, it was an important communication node in antiquity, offering safe harborage.
