A river name provided only by Ptolemy and thought by scholars to be identifiable with the modern Plymouth Sound estuary and its contributory, the Tamar (southwest England).

Also cited as Tamaris at position 240 in the Ravenna Cosmography's tour of harbour estuaries. Another Tamaris was a place, probably higher up the river at Launceston.
