Users often have trouble finding information about prominent places because of the way titles and descriptions for place resources have been constructed by default from the legacy Barrington Atlas data. We can fix this.

Most of the Pleiades places that came in from legacy Classical Atlas Project / Barrington Atlas data have generated titles that match the labels used on the Barrington maps and have generated descriptions something like "An ancient place, cited: BAtlas 59 B3 Athenae" (e.g.: http://pleiades.stoa.org/places/579885/). We never imagined that these descriptions or titles (which don't always include all or the most commonly used place names) would be adequate. Indeed, it can a struggle even for people who know something about the ancient world to pick out the place they're interested in from a search result set. Consider, for example, this search for Athens. I've just done a little bit of work to clean up the title and description for Corinth. Compare this search result.

And so now I'm hoping we can find some volunteers to work on them, especially for prominent or important places that ought to be easy to find. If you're interested in helping, please add a comment here!
