- Ponte Mammolo is the modern name of an ancient bridge over the Aniene river. It gives its name to a neighborhood and metro station in the northeast part of the modern city of Rome. Archaeological evidence of ancient quarrying and a settlement have also been found in the vicinity of the bridge.

- The ancient settlement of Pontecagnano is located on the plain of the Sele river, about 4 km from the sea. Settlement begins in the Chalcolithic period. The Early Iron Age sees the arrival of people identified as Villanovans who originated in South Etruria, initiating a proto-urban phase of the settlement covering some 80 ha.

- Portus Herculis is located on the eastern side of the Monte Argentario peninsula, about 40 km south-east of Grosseto and about 7 km south-west of Orbetello. and about 12 km from Porto Santo Stefano. The site is in use as a port in the Etruscan, Roman, and Late Antique phases of occupation. It is included on the Peutinger map and in the Itinerarium Maritimum.
