On the small island of modern Kephalos in the Ambracian Gulf, archaeologists discovered a settlement, a pair of Christian basilicas, and other associated structures and small finds. The site may have begun as a refuge settlement in the late fifth / early sixth century CE and seems to have continued in use, possibly with a late monastic function, into the 10th century.

A submerged neolithic site on a former islet connected to the east coast of Korcula island, just southeast of the modern town and port of the same name. Preliminary underwater excavations conducted by a team from the University of Zadar were reported in the media in 2021. Stone walls, ceramics, and tools were among the finds.

According to a fragment of Favorinus quoted by Stephanus of Byzantium, Korydela was one of two islets that constituted the "Chelidoniai petrai". These "rocks" are thought to be identifiable with the largest two of several islets that lie off modern Cape Gelidonya on the south coast of Anatolia (the modern Beş Adalar = Five Islands). Korydela is identified with the closed of the group to the cape, modern Meşe Adası.
