The Campo Barbarico Mausoleum is a third-century CE Roman "temple tomb" located at the fourth mile of the Via Latina. The tomb's position is immediately to the south of the archaeological area of the Tombs of the Via Latina. In 2022, additional in situ tracts of the Via Latina's pavement were excavated adjacent to the mausoleum.

The Corinth Canal cuts across the Isthmus of Corinth, connecting the Gulf of Corinth to the Saronic Gulf and the Aegean Sea. Several abortive attempts in antiquity were made at creating the canal, although its final (and functional) realization occurred in modernity.

Two eighth-century-B.C. archives were excavated in Fort Shalmaneser, a building complex in the southeastern corner of the city Kalhu. One archive was located in Rooms NE 47–50 at the northern side of the northeast courtyard. It consists of about eighty unsealed administrative texts, including twenty-two horse lists and forty-eight wine lists. A few clay tablets were also found in other rooms nearby.

Most documents found in the Northwest Palace, built by the Assyrian king Ashurnarsipal II (883–859 BC), predate the move of the new Assyrian capital to Dur-Šarrukin under Sargon II (721–705 BC). An archive repository of 180 clay tablets were found in Room 57. These texts, which date from 800 to 736 BC, are mostly sale documents; there is also a list of oxen. The older documents in the archive generally deal with the purchase of slaves and houses, whereas the younger documents record the purchase of fields, some by servants of the queen.

Mari (Tell Hariri) was an ancient Semitic city that flourished as a trade center and hegemonic state between 2900 BC until 1759 BC. The site was submitted as a tentative candidate for the UNESCO World Heritage list in 1999.

The Domus Marmeniae is a villa located on the Via Appia near the fourth milestone. The villa grounds hosted a pagan necropolis and tradition holds that the matrona, Marmenia, relocated the body of St. Urban to a mausoleum built on the grounds.

Ptolemy lists the Santonon Akron and a homonymous port (Santonon Limen) on a stretch of the Atlantic coast of modern France between the mouths of the ancient Garumna (Garonne) and the ancient Ligeiros (Loire) where there has been significant landscape change since antiquity. In his Periplus, Marcianus puts it between the mouth of the Garumna and the mouth of the Kanentellos (modern Charente). It may be identifiable with the modern Pointe d'Arvert/Pointe Espagnole, which lies just north of the mouth of the Garonne, or (if Marcianus is discounted) with the Pointe des Baleines, which is the northwest cape of the Île de Ré, which lies offshore from modern La Rochelle.
