You can use a feed reader to subscribe to the Atom feed of this blog. You can also subscribe to a separate Atom feed of all recently added and updated gazetteer entries. Each individual place resource in the gazetteer also has its own Atom feed, so you can monitor the records for places you care about (look for "Atom" under the "Alternate representations" heading on any place page).
