Qa`la Bost is an ancient fortress within the ancient city of Bust, located on the Helmand River in southern Afghanistan and overseeing a major crossroads linking Kandahar and India to eastern Iran. Standing remains at the site predominantly date to the Islamic Middle Ages, but archaeological finds suggest an occupational history dating back to at least the first millennium BCE.
