The gate’s approximate location is based on an aerial photograph of Nineveh taken in 1929, Corona satellite imagery (1967-68), and Google satellite imagery. The location of the gate suggested here is the traditional spot of the Aššur Gate according to most modern reconstructions of Nineveh. Those maps place the Halzi Gate about 400 m north of the southeast corner (approximate coordinates: 36.3398677, 43.1777291).
