Our inaugural community Zoom call will occur on Wednesday, November 20, 2024 at 16:00 UTC (click here to convert the time to your web browser’s local time). The call will last one hour, with an additional half hour scheduled for questions arising during the course of the meeting. Registration in advance is required at this link.
The call will not be recorded, but automated captioning will be enabled. Participants will be asked to refrain from using “Zoom AI Companion” or other features and tools that harvest or repurpose content from the meeting, as participants will not have consented to same in advance. If you have accessibility needs not served by auto-captioning, please email pleiades.admin@nyu.edu in advance so we can try to find mechanisms that will facilitate your participation.
Background: Inspired by a similar practice just initiated by the Text Encoding Initiative community (and endorsed by early responders to a note about it in the Pleiades Community List), the Editorial College is pleased to announce this new way for the Pleiades community to get together, share ideas, discuss proposals, and ask questions to peers. Pleiades Community Calls will be monthly online meetings (on Zoom) open to any one. Tom Elliott will start off hosting the calls, with the hope that other community members will be able to help with logistics in the future.
Please note that the provisions of the Pleiades Standards of Conduct will be in effect during this call. The host(s) of the meeting are empowered to make judgments about inappropriate behavior and to act upon them immediately, to include removal of participants from the call.
