Originally identified as a swallet, this cave feature was the site of archaeological excavations in 1972-6 and again in 1983-6. The site has produced evidence of several stratigraphic horizons and, notably, a number of disarticulated human and faunal remains. The human remains come from at least 37 Bronze Age individuals and their demise seems to have been the result of deliberate violence.
