Last week the Pleiades editorial college published 14 new place resources and approved updates to 229 existing place resources.

New Place Resources

  • The Abbey of Santissima Trinità at Venosa was a Roman Catholic abbey that exhibits numerous architectural influences. Its remains now lie within the archaeological park of Venosa. The complex includes several principal parts in addition to the church, including monastery buildings and the so-called "Incompiuta", a church project of the eleventh century that was begun but never completed.

  • Fortified site in Upper Nubia dated to the late Meroitic and post-Merotic periods.

  • A domus included in Regio III, the house of Betitius Perpetuus Arzygius was located on the Quirinal Hill close to the ara incendii Neroniani. Some of its remains have been documented beneath the present Palazzo delle Esposizioni.

  • The Temple of Augustus and Roma at Ankara likely dates ca. 20 BCE. It is also known as the "Monumentum Ancyranum", highlighting the structure's role in preserving the most complete copy of the inscription known as the "Res Gestae Divi Augusti", which was promulgated in both ancient Greek and Latin following the death of emperor Augustus in 14 CE.
